nenva is something you talk to. You don't need to learn the app first. Open it, type what you want in plain words, and it works out the rest.
Ask nenva anything
Home is mostly one box that says Ask nenva anything… Type the way you would to a person.
- "What do I have on today?"
- "Did the dentist ever confirm my appointment?"
- "When is the car insurance renewal due?"
- "What did I write in my journal about the move?"
- "Summarize the lease PDF I added last week."
The answers come from your own mail, calendar, tasks, notes, journal and documents, only the ones you connected, and they link to the real thing. Click a link and the email, event or note opens.
Ask it to do things for you
It can also do the work, not just talk about it:
- "Help me plan a new project: run a 10K in October." It asks a few questions, then proposes tasks with dates.
- "Move everything from today to tomorrow."
- "Put lunch with Sam on my calendar Friday at noon."
- "Every Monday morning, check the news on the companies I own and tell me what matters." That becomes a routine that runs on its own.
- "Draft a reply to the landlord in my voice." This works once you turn on Writing voice in Settings.
- "Search the web for the best time to visit Kyoto." Web search is opt-in.
It asks before it acts
Reading is free. Anything that goes out or changes something, like sending an email, texting someone or changing your calendar, shows you exactly what it is about to do and waits for your OK. Click Allow or Don't allow, and choose whether the yes is just this once, for the rest of the session, or always. A few steps ask every time, whatever you chose before.
If you are not in the chat when it needs you, the question waits on Home under Needs you. Click Review together to go back to that conversation, or Show again in 1 hour if now is not a good time.
What's on Home
Below the box, Home only shows what is worth your attention:
- Needs you: questions the assistant is waiting on you for.
- From your routines: new results from routines you set up, one line each.
- Ongoing work: things the assistant is still working on, folded away until you open it.
- Widgets: the rest of your day on one page: tasks, calendar, email that needs a look, and your routine posts.
Up top, Chat History has every past conversation, searchable. Apps opens any app directly (Tasks, Inbox, Calendar, Notes, Journal, Documents and more), and Settings is where you connect accounts and choose the AI model.
Prefer the full layout with a sidebar? Turn off Settings › Appearance › Simple home.
Private chats
Click Private in the assistant's header for a chat that is not saved, not listed in your history and not remembered. It also leaves out your personal information unless you tick Use my personal info.
Where your data and the AI live
Your data stays on your Mac. Only what the AI is working on leaves it, and only to the model you use. A new install uses nenva Cloud, hosted open-weight models that never log or store your prompts. You can switch to a model that runs entirely on your Mac, or your own server, in Settings › AI Assistant. See Choosing where the AI runs for the details.

The assistant knows how every part of nenva works. Ask "How do I connect my Gmail?" or "What are routines?" and it explains, and can take you to the right place in Settings.
